Ugandan music duo Kataleya & Kandle on Monday, May 11, 2026, officially announced their separation from manager Ray Pan Promoter, marking another major turning point in the singers’ turbulent but successful music journey.
In a press statement released on Monday, the duo confirmed they were no longer working with Ray Pan, who had managed them following their highly publicised fallout with former record label Theron Music.
“We sincerely thank Ray Pan for the journey we have shared together, the growth, and the memories. We wish him the very best in all his future endeavors,” the duo stated.
The singers added that they are now focused on building a new management team, which they said will be unveiled in the near future.
Kataleya & Kandle rose to mainstream fame under Theron Music after releasing songs such as Do Me, Tonafuya, Muzibe Wa Love and Nkunonya, quickly establishing themselves among Uganda’s most prominent female music acts.
However, their relationship with the label later collapsed in a dispute that dominated entertainment headlines for months. Reports of misunderstandings between the artists and management sparked widespread debate within the music industry, with allegations emerging that the singers were being excessively monitored and restricted while under management.
The controversy intensified after claims circulated on social media alleging that surveillance cameras had reportedly been installed around the duo’s residence, accusations that drew reactions from fans and several entertainment figures. Neither side publicly disclosed full details surrounding the dispute, but the fallout eventually led to the duo’s departure from Theron Music and a temporary slowdown in music releases.
In previous media interviews, Kataleya & Kandle admitted the separation period was emotionally and financially challenging, saying they struggled to rebuild both personally and professionally after leaving the label.
Despite the setbacks, the duo later resurfaced with new projects and performances under Ray Pan’s management, signalling efforts to re-establish their brand independently.
With another management split now confirmed, fans and entertainment analysts are again closely watching the future of the pair, who remain among Uganda’s most recognisable female music groups.
The singers said all future bookings, business dealings, and official communication will now be handled through new contacts as they prepare to unveil the next phase of their music career.
